Hoisington Historical Society Displays

The Hoisington Historical Society was founded in 1996, but was not active until the donation of a house in December, 1999. The home was built in 1905 and it along with the barn that is also on the property has undergone extensive remodeling. The 6 room house is now home to the Hoisington Historical Museum.
On display is a variety of memorabilia showcasing Hoisington's proud history with the railroad, downtown merchants and schools from it's birth to present day. The Historical Society's goal is to not only display the history but to bring it to life in our minds and hearts, providing an understanding of our rich heritage.

Library Displays

The Hoisington Public Library will be showing historical video programs on Cheyenne Bottoms that were developed by Sunflower Journeys; and a special video developed by the Hoisington High School video production class about Cheyenne Bottoms. These video will run by request during the hours of noon to 4:00pm. The library will also showcase books focusing on information about Cheyenne Bottoms and, the habitat and animals of the area.
