Dog Training Demonstration

Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Conservation Officer, Brian Hanzlick, will share demonstrations of tracking, wildlife detection and evidence recovery with his dog Ally from KDWP K-9 unit. The demonstrations are to help spread the KDWP conservation message.

Reptile Tales from the Bottoms and More

Join Curtis Schmidt, Associate Curator of Herpetology-Sternberg Museum, for a show-and-tell of some of the common amphibians, reptiles, and turtles in the Cheyenne Bottoms area. You will get the chance to see and even hold some of the most interesting creatures that call the Bottoms home. A great program for the entire family!

Dog Demonstration

Hair, Teeth and Skulls...Mammals at the Bottoms

Join Brian Bartels, Educator at the Sternberg Museum of National History, for talk about the mammals that are common to the Cheyenne Bottoms area.  Learn about the different animals including what they look like and their interesting behaviors.  Mammal skins, skulls and even live animals will be discussed and available for show and tell!
